Gorey Gardai Raise Funds for Talk To Tom

BY Fintan Lambe

The recent family fun day at Gorey Garda Station not only was an enjoyable occasion for the estimated 2,500 people who attended, but it also proved to be rewarding for local charities.

Representatives of Gorey Cardiac First Responders, Talk to Tom and Gorey Youth Needs were recently invited to the station to accept cheques for €1,000 each. There was no admission fee for the event, but a raffle was very well supported on the day.

Sgt Evelyn Reddan of Gorey Garda Station said that they had 35 prizes up for grabs, including vouchers for restaurants, businesses and family attractions in the local area.

Sincere thanks were sent to the various branches of An Garda Síochána which were present on the day, the other emergency services, local organisations, the civilian staff, and the local personnel who helped out on the day, and all involved in organising in the months beforehand.

Special thanks went to the local business that got on board and helped cover running costs.
